About Journey through the Clouds:

The two-day long Journey through the Clouds travels between Vancouver and Jasper traversing some of the most remote landscapes in Canada, with scenery and wildlife largely untouched by humans. Pass the rushing Hell’s Gate—named for explorer Simon Fraser’s assertion that “surely these are the gates of Hell”—and Cisco Crossing. Between Kamloops and Jasper, the train passes the glacier-fed, three tiered Pyramid Falls; Mount Albreda; and Mount Robson—the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet).

Calgary to Vancouver Westbound, Based on April 16, 2024 departure

Arrive in Calgary and spend time exploring this cosmopolitan city on your own. That could be going to the top of the Calgary Tower, exploring Prince’s Island Park or much more. Overnight in Calgary.

Depart Calgary this morning for a full-day transfer concluding in Banff. Journey to Banff on a sightseeing transfer including a stop at the Banff Gondola. Highlights include Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Your tour ends on arrival in Banff late this afternoon. Overnight in Banff.

Departing early in the morning, travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops, in the heart of the British Columbia Interior. As you journey west and south, you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Today’s highlights include the climb over the Yellowhead Pass, Pyramid Falls, Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and the journey along the North Thompson River as you approach Kamloops in the evening. Early in the morning, your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey, you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the B.C. Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Cascade and Coast Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver this evening.
