BLACK HILLS ESTATE WINERY

Ross Wise MW is the General Manager & Director of Winemaking at Black Hills Estate Winery. A New Zealand native, he has held many Winemaking and Viticulture roles across New Zealand and Canada. In 2020, Ross became Canada’s seventh Master of Wine, achieving this credential with a paper focused on the potential impacts of climate change on viticulture in the Okanagan Valley. Outside of the wine industry, Ross’s interests include making sourdough bread, fermenting anything food and beverage related, growing tomatoes, hiking and biking in the BC mountains, and sailing.

Jesse has been in the wine industry for 15 years, a decade of which at Black Hills Estate Winery. A true lover of hospitality, Jesse feels most at home in the Wine Experience Center, where she has hosted thousands of visitors from around the world since joining the team in 2012. She considers herself a lifelong student and has studied every aspect of the wine and hospitality industry, from attending several Direct-to-Consumer symposiums, to completing the WSET 3 & French Wine Professional courses, to even learning how to butcher and break down a whole lamb. When she isn’t in the tasting room hosting clients, or in the kitchen experimenting with new cuisines,  Jesse can be found in her garden with her husband Wade and new addition to the family, one-year-old Olive.
