The Hubbard Glacier is located about 30 miles north off the coast of Yakutat and is by far one of Alaska’s most exciting natural treasures. On your cruise to Hubbard Glacier, enjoy incredible picture-perfect views of this glorious mount of ice from about every angle on your ship. Named after Gardiner Hubbard, the founder and president of the National Geographic Society, Hubbard Glacier is the longest tidewater glacier in the world. Dramatically massive at about 7-miles wide, 76-miles long and as tall as a 30-story building above the waterline, it’s the largest river of ice in North America. How this magnificent block came to form begins about 400 years ago from the snowfalls on the slopes of Mount Logan. While most of the world’s glaciers are retreating, the Hubbard Glacier has continued to thicken over the years and on rare occasion will partially block Russell Fjord, temporarily damming its passage. B, L, D

Juneau, Alaska is a scenic capital city framed by water, mountains, and the massive Juneau Icefield. Top highlights include visiting the 13-mile-long Mendenhall Glacier, whale watching in Auke Bay, and exploring the historic downtown. My favourite way to spend the day is take a morning bus shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier and hike within the rainforest canopy on an easy/moderate trail that offers spectacular views along the way. After a nice walk & visit to the Visitor Centre, take the bus shuttle back to town and enjoy a beverage in the Red Dog Saloon… always a fun time! B, L, D

Skagway, Alaska features a well-preserved 1898 Gold Rush downtown, the vintage White Pass & Yukon Route Railway, and surrounding wilderness like the Chilkoot Trail and local glaciers. Top sights include historic Broadway Street, the Gold Rush Cemetery, and active excursions into the adjacent Yukon territory. For those active guests, the Dewey Lake Trail is close walking distance to the ship. For some amazing scenery, the White Pass Train is a great excursion! B, L, D

Icy Strait Point in Hoonah, Alaska, is a private cruise port featuring the world’s largest ZipRider, a restored 1912 salmon cannery and museum, scenic mountain gondolas, and prime wildlife viewing for humpback whales and brown bears on Chichagof Island. B, L, D

Ketchikan, Alaska—known as Alaska’s “First City” and the Salmon Capital of the World—features historic stilted boardwalks on Creek Street, world-class totem pole collections at Totem Bight State Park, and flightseeing tours over the stunning Misty Fjords National Monument. This is my favourite town to enjoy a Crab Feast and one of my favourite spots to enjoy crab is the Ketchikan Crab & Go Restaurant! B, L, D

Our last day is a relaxing day to take in the sights as we cruise south through the Inside Passage and to take in all the fun the ship has to offer! B, L, D

Today, we bid farewell to the beautiful Celebrity Solstice. All good things do not have to come to an end! If Vancouver is not your home city, ask about a hotel stay in Vancouver or a side trip to Vancouver Island! B
