An Interview With Melanie Krangle-Dawson
How many years have you been selling travel?
I have only just begun to sell travel though I have been back and forth to the Caribbean islands since I was a young child, and that is part of what has inspired me to want to see more of the world and to explore more cultures across the seas.
What are your hobbies?
I love to garden, listening to music and creating art with nature. I enjoy yoga and overall movement of the body, like dance or somatic practices.
What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
I personally prefer the Ocean/Sea over lounging by a pool, so I love reading books on the beach while taking in the sun. I always enjoy hearing the surrounding sounds of joy and laughter while getting lost in a good read. I'll forever be excited to get myself swimming in salt waters, I love the Caribbean Sea specifically! If there are dance programs or lessons at a resort, I will generally sign up for them. I enjoy doing water excursions and snorkeling. I love learning and experiencing the life and culture of where I'm visiting, so if there is a way to visit local towns or villages then I will absolutely do that. My husband and I also really love to go deep sea fishing,
What are your favorite destinations?
I'm super biased about my love for St. Kitts and I have been visiting that island since I was 4yrs old, now with a home there. I really enjoy Negril, Jamaica for the beautiful beaches it offers. One of my favourite places in Canada to visit is in Quebec/Quebec City and in Montreal/Old Montreal. I really appreciate the Architecture and history of these cities, along with the food and wine culture they bring. I find that this part of Canada has a very European feel to it.
What languages do you speak?
I grew up speaking English yet was raised around fluent Spanish speaking individuals and I also spoke lots of French in my younger years in school so I'm able to pick up the jest of what's being said. When I've been surrounded long enough around those languages much of the dialect will come back to me.
