An Interview With Kristy Young
How many years have you been selling travel?
I have been in the Travel Industry since August 2015
What are your hobbies?
Being a big, bubbly, nerd! I love life and want to spend every second discovering new things. I want to experience everything the world has to offer. I especially love travel because there is always something new to learn and discover #bringmethathorizon! My family and I are big Disney fanatics! We love everything Disney, from visiting the parks, to Disney-bounding, to Disney Karaoke. Our family bucket list definitely includes visiting all the Disney Theme Parks around the world. When I'm not being a Disney freak with my kids, I am actively escaping them with my husband to enjoy the amazing beer and wine trails. My favorite hot spot is the Trading Post in Langley. When I am needing some time for myself I enjoy practicing photography which is just another lens to see our beautiful world.
What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
I enjoy a mix of lazing it out pool side to work on that sunburn and being active- double fisting it counts as activity right? When I travel, I want to see everything the destination has to offer. I want to get that in-depth view of the local culture. I love experiencing the local cuisine and nothing makes my heart sing more then finding that special gem on what makes that destination unique.
What are your favorite destinations?
How can you choose?! There's so much out there to just pick one! You know, I absolutely love Disney, but there is more to travel then Disney- please don't tell my family I said that. I also really love cruising! My favorite cruise so far has been Alaska. When I first went to Alaska, I thought that it would be just like here in Vancouver. The trees, the mountains and the wildlife. In truth though, when you are traveling up there, it's so mystical and magical. I remember one night just after dinner, the sun was setting and we decided to take a stroll along the deck of the ship. The water was so calm, the sun was that beautiful golden color and you could see the towering mountains along the shoreline. Then suddenly, thousands of porpoises came up to the chase the ship. They were zipping in and out of the water and being so playful! It's something I will never forget. There are so many moments like that when you travel, but Alaska was the moment for me where I realized how much beauty there was to explore in this world. Just after that, I started my journey as a Travel agent.
What languages do you speak?
English and Disney
