An Interview With LeAnn Marutkyn
How many years have you been selling travel?
I started working for a travel agency in Lethbridge in 1994, and started selling travel in 1996 and have been hooked ever since. Guess this was inevitable coming from a home where my mom was a Travel Agent/Agency Owner for over 35 years herself!
What are your hobbies?
I have always loved to read, garden, fish, bicycle and do various crafts. Nothing beats a bad day of fishing with a good book, unless it is harvesting the fruits of our labours from our garden. Needless to say, I also love to travel and see new parts of the world, meet the locals and experience the fabulous local quisine. I am a bit of a self proclaimed foodie and love to cook new recipies any chance I can.
What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
Give me a good book, beach side cabana and the crystal clear blue waters lapping against the shore line any day!! I love to go for those long walks on the beach and just enjoy the sights and sounds....SO RELAXING!
What are your favorite destinations?
I have been fortunate to travel to a few destinations over the years. As a teenager I was able to see London, England and several cities in Greece, as well as the island of Mykonos. What a great opportunity at the age of 16! Japan, was probably my second favorite destination that I have had the opportunity to see. What an amazaing country. It is so full of beauty and heritage. Japan has to be one of the easiest countries to get around in with your rail pass. I have also been to Honolulu, Cancun (twice), Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, San Diego, Anaheim, Las Vegas, Victoria (home away from home), Vancouver and a few other assorted cities.
What languages do you speak?
