Hawaii is a fantastic place to travel to. The weather was perfect. The temperature was just right...and no jackets in the evening either! Although Waikiki Beach in Honolulu is wonderful, Hawaii has so much more to offer. There are wonderful outdoor restaurants , bars and cafes. Incredible shopping. Great hiking. From Farmer's Markets to museums to the history of Pearl Harbour and  China town. It really is so much more than just a beach vacation, but if you want beach and pools Hawaii is for you too!    

I travelled to Ixtapa March 2014. I was pleasantly surprised, it was a lovely destination, quiet and laid back. Zihatunejo is a fishing village 4KM away where it all began, from there Ixtapa was built as the toursit destination to compliment Zihutuano. Ixtapa has lovely cove beaches where waves crash into shore. You do have to be cautious if you enjoy swimming in the ocean, but for the surfer or boogie boarder it would be great fun. I stayed at Las Brisas, a wonderful resort built on the side of a hill.  It had a private beach, every room at the resort was ocean view. There was lots of walking, up and down hills, but there were shuttles and elevators at the resort.  It is about a 15minute stroll to town or a 2 minute cab ride. If you want to stay in the action though, there are many resorts right in the downtown/market area. I had no complaints!

I was in Varadero Cuba spring 2013. I loved it!. Every beach I saw was amazing. Long stretches of white sand and beautiful blue waters. The resort I stayed at, Riu Varadero was very nice. Great active areas as well as quiet corners and adults only areas. A day trip to Havana is a must! What a great city. The history and culture and those old cars are so very cool. There are great resorts to chose from. Cuba does have its chllenges, but if you travel with an open mind and embrace the differences you'll love it!

Vegas is great fun for a quick getaway but there is also lots of touring in the area if you can stay a little longer. Even if you don't gamble you will keep busy. There can be lots of walking, it is great fun touring the hotels and enjoyng their unique designs. Walking the strip and people watching is a favorite passtime of mine. But, bus, taxi and monorail services are easily available. There are great restaurants, shopping, shows and clubs. There is never a dull moment!

I enjoyed a Caribbean cruise on the Caribbean Princess in December 2012. It was a relaxing itinerary with 3 full days at sea. Ports  included Princess Cays, Aruba and Curacao. Wine tasting, shopping, beaches, wonderful scenery, great food...need I say more? Oh yah, warmth and sunshine!

I have been to Disneyland many times.....Disney World several times....Disney Cruise line too! It's amazing how Disney keeps adding and changing and building just so you have to keep on going back! There are always the old classics....Indiana Jones.....Space Mountain and now the new....California Screamer.....World of Color. I love Disney. Did you know you can now download an APP to check the line up times on the rides?! I have been there with and without kids. I have cruised Disney Cruise Line with and without kids. It is great every time. Customer service is a top priority, Disney truly knows how to do it right!  

My family and I cruised the Mexican Riviera on the Pacific coast on the Carnival Splendor. She was a large ship. Lots to do to keep you busy for the week. Staff was great as was the food and the service. We sailed from Los Angeles. Our two ports were Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. We enjoyed both stops and also had plenty of time to enjoy the ship and all the great amenities.

I took an amazing journey from Amsterdam to Luxembourg with a side trip to Paris. We salied on the  AMA Dolce. 5 star accommodation and food combined with amazing scenery and history on the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. Castles at almost every turn, cathedrals, vineyards....Debbie our Cruise Director was AMAZING!! The food was incredible. Shore excursions are included on a River Cruise and docking right in the center of the cities was so practical and easy!  A small ship made for a personal more intimate experience. You can't help but meet travelers from all over the world. What a wonderful experience!!   

This cruise was a 12 night Mediterranean from Barcelona. Ports of call included Villefranche, Livorno, Rome, Venice, Naples, Dubrovnik, Kotor....An amazing vacation on a beautiful ship. The staff was amazing, especially our waiters. We enjoyed the shows, the activities and the itinerary. Cruising is a magical way to see Europe's amazing history. A cruise inclusive package saves you packing, time and money.  

I went with Transat Holidays to England and Scotland. We flew into Glasgow for our first stop. We did a "Hop on and Hop Off" bus tour. That is always a great way to see any city. Our hotel, Jurys Inn, was in a perfect location. We took a day trip to the Highlands by bus (it was funny to see how many of us Canadians always tried to get into the bus on the wrong side!). The tour was so much fun, no Nessy on this fine day though! We also took the train on a day trip to Edinburgh. What a great city!  Edinburgh Castle is one of the best Castles I have ever seen for actually walking in and viewing. We then took the train and spent a day in York, another great city. The York Minster, the streets of cobblestone, walking the wall....what wonderful history. We even went on a ghost walk one evening! A train ride to London and our last stop. London is a great city! So many sights and history and shopping! The tube is the perfect way to get around here.  

Signature Vacations to Huatulco. Huatulco is an "untouched" destination in Mexico. Much of the area is a national wildlife preserve. It still has natural charm and beauty, no Pizza Hut here! Visit the village of La Crucetia or Santa Cruz. The weather here is almost perfect all the time! I really enjoyed my "work vacation" here.  I stayed at both Las Brisas and Dreams. Both were great resorts in their own way. 

Finally my Family gets to join me on a vacation! We went to the Mayan Riviera. Great beaches. Great shopping. Great excursions. Great food. I really do love Mexico and the Mayan Riviera is one of my favorites. The Grand Riviera Princess was very nice and the junior suites were nice to have for the extra space.

This was a Transat Holidays FAM to Punta Cana. We stayed at Occidental Grand and Punta Cana Princess. Punta Cana was a lovely beach destination. It is a "Kick back and enjoy your resort" kinda destination. We inspected many other hotels too, the Majestic, the H10's, Barcelo, Bahia, Dreams. It is hard to find a hotel you won't like in Punta Cana. It was a great get away for a relaxing vacation. 

Holland America Cruise Lines, the Maasdam. Canada New England Cruise,  Boston to Montreal. Wonderful, smaller ship. Great staff. The itinerary was so nice! You may think exotic or hot when you think cruise, but I loved the Maritimes and experiencing the East Coast of Canada and New England. From baseball (Go Red Sox Go!) to lobster to French Canadian culture it was a great cruise. I saw Halifax for the first time on this cruise. We made a point of going to McDonalds and ordered a McLobster! A pre-night in Boston and post-night in Montreal gave us time to enjoy those two cities also. 

I took a Fam trip with Signature Vacations in 2008 and then took a group of Grade 12 grads in 2009. (I know, crazy huh?!) I really like Puerto Vallarta. Great beaches, great night life, great shopping......From the west it can be a very affordable get away. I have stayed at the Canto Del Sol, Las Palmas, Palladium, Marival and inspected a whole lot of other hotels too!

Sunquest Vacations Fam. We stayed at the Riu Mambo and inspected many other resorts. Puerto Plata has lovely golden sand beaches. Cabarete is world known for it's kitesurfing and Sosua is another small town you can visit while there. Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic  was a fun destination.
