An Interview With Dianna Martin
How many years have you been selling travel?
15 years! I started straight out of college after studying Travel & Tourism. I've always had a curiosity about discovering other parts of the world and a real love of learning through experiences. Over the years, I've had the privilege of planning some truly amazing trips for clients and have taken many of my own. I'm always taken aback with how visiting a destination can completely shift your perspective and spark such meaningful, transformative growth.
What are your hobbies?
Photography is a large part of my life - particularly analogue film photography. I also love being in nature every day, whether it's hiking, swimming or cycling. Sharing delicious meals with friends and family brings me great joy. The arts; watching films, reading books, wandering around museums. And of course, travelling! Really diving into the culture and history of a place makes me feel more connected and inspires everything I do.
What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
These days, I find myself drawn to a more active style of travel. If I’m at a resort, you’ll usually find me swimming in the ocean, walking along the coast, snorkeling, or heading off-site to explore and really immerse myself in the local surroundings. When travelling elsewhere — say, through a European city — I’m happiest wandering through museums, joining a day tour that’s piqued my curiosity, and seeking out the most tantalizing restaurants and cafes to experience the local flavour.
What are your favorite destinations?
Oh, this is a tough one! There's so many places I love for different reasons; the rich history and romance of Italy, the splendor of Greece, and Portugal holds a special place in my heart, as it’s part of my roots. New Zealand is high on the list too - so much rugged beauty and adventure! Lastly, for a quick escape, I'd say Mexico. It truly has it all: vibrant art and culture, beautiful beaches, incredible food, and effortlessly chic resorts. I'd go back in heartbeat to some key spots. That's my answer for now though I'm sure this list will continue to evolve.
What languages do you speak?
English - I really wish I could speak more languages though.
