Below are the entry requirements for the Dominican Republic. Please not these are fluid and can change with little notice.Please see above and note the “last updated” date. You will also find a link(s) at the bottom of the page with the most up-to-date information which we encourage you to review the week prior to travel. The following information applies to those with a Canadian passport and who are fully vaccinated. If this does not apply to you, please contact your Travel Advisor.

Most travelers from Canada with proof of full COVID-19 vaccination can enter Dominican Republic, but there are restrictions.

No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for entry
Travelers are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to the Dominican Republic.

Quarantine may be required
Travelers with a high temperature or with symptoms will be required to take a COVID-19 rapid test. If they test positive, they will be required to quarantine at a designated facility.

DOCUMENTS YOU NEED FOR YOUR TRIP

Travelers departing from Canadian airports require proof of vaccination
Travelers departing from Canadian airports, rail, and passengers vessels on voyages of 24 hours or more need to be fully vaccinated in order to board. This requirement applies to international and domestic departures. Airlines may let you complete your attestation electronically during check-in or via partner apps such as VeriFLY. In this case, it is not necessary to print the form, but travelers may do so as a precaution. If not completed electronically, travelers must print, complete, and carry the indicated attestation form with them. Fully vaccinated travelers must have received a full course of vaccination with an accepted vaccine. The accepted 2 dose vaccines are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria, COVISHIELD), Sinopharm, Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc), or Covaxin, and the accepted 1 dose vaccine is Janssen/Johnson & Johnson. Travelers that have received a combination of 2 accepted vaccines are considered fully vaccinated. Travelers must have received their last dose at least 14 days before departure. Travelers who fail to comply, refuse, or provide untruthful information on this measure, may be subject to a penalty or a fine. Complete Federal Attestation

Mandatory travel declaration form before arrival
Travelers are required to fill out an electronic entry form before arrival, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. Once completed, it will provide a QR code that will be scanned by the authorities on arrival. The form must be completed individually by each traveler and travelers must complete the form a maximum of 72 hours before arrival to the Dominican Republic. Complete online: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/

Mandatory health pass for public activity
Travelers are required to provide an identity document and evidence of COVID-19 vaccination with at least 2 doses, or a negative COVID-19 PCR test, to access public spaces, schools, businesses, restaurants, gyms, public transport, and other public areas. Please check the source for more details.
This requirement does not apply to: -Travelers under the age of 12.

Health screening on arrival

Temperature screening is required for all travelers on arrival. Travelers with a high temperature will be required to take a rapid COVID-19 test. If travelers test positive, they will be required to quarantine at a designated facility.

Travel declaration form before exiting the Dominican Republic

Travelers are required to fill out an electronic entry form before departure, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. The form must be completed individually by each traveler and, once completed, it will provide a QR code that will be scanned by the authorities before departure. The form should be filled out before departure check in to avoid delay and possibility of denied boarding.
