ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Whitehorse
Arrive in Whitehorse, Gateway to the Yukon. It is only a short distance to your hotel and we request that you take an easily available taxi to your city centre accommodation.
Overnight: Whitehorse

Day 2: White Pass, Yukon, and Skagway, Alaska, day tour
This tour starts in Whitehorse and we travel along the South Klondike Highway to Fraser, BC, connecting with the world famous narrow gauge White Pass Railway over the White Pass Summit and into Skagway, Alaska. In Skagway, you will have time to explore the historic downtown, the gateway for many Stampeders on their way to the Klondike gold fields. Return to Whitehorse.

Day 3: Whitehorse - Dawson City, Yukon
Today you get the chance to experience the friendly service of Air North on your flight to Dawson City. Dawson City is an eclectic and vibrant northern community on the banks of the Yukon River. You will transfer to Dawson City for a brief drive tour. Dawson City boasts a mixture of First Nations Heritage and Gold Rush History blended with an active Gold Mining and a thriving Arts scene. No trip to Dawson is complete without capturing a photograph of yourself atop the Midnight Dome. We will drive to this incredible vantage point and take in a panoramic view of the region. Marvel in the beauty of the Yukon River and Klondike Valleys, and see the Ogilvie Mountain Range in the distance.

Day 4: Dawson City - Inuvik, Northwest Territories
Board your morning flight to Inuvik. Upon arrival, you will be driven a short distance to the town and have time to check into your hotel before the town tour.The tour of Inuvik showcases the history and culture of this northern community. This also includes a tour within the world famous Igloo Church.This evening, you will be transferred to experience your 'Taste of the Arctic' cultural dinner. You will start with a tour of the largest most northern greenhouse in the world. Learn about the history of the greenhouse, the impact of 24 hour day light on the plants, and about the impact it has on this northern community! Following you will have the opportunity to sample the food that is harvested from the land, and to learn about the Inuvialuit history, their way of life and the rich culture held by the Inuvialuit. There will be cultural experience, traditional dances, traditional craft workshops, and friendly banter. After your evening filled with arctic and aboriginal cultural activities, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 5: Dempster Highway Tour
Spend the entire day with one of our guides driving down the Dempster Highway from Inuvik for a complete change of scenery! An hour drive takes you to breathtaking views of the Richardson Mountains, rolling hills of tundra and small lakes. Due to the open nature of the Arctic tundra, this tour is the best chance to see local birds and wildlife such as eagles, wolves, moose, caribou, grizzly bears and more! You will pass the beautiful and quaint community of T'siigehtchic and make two ferry crossings on your way to the famous Arctic Circle Monument. Before heading back to Inuvik, there may be a chance to stretch your legs with an optional short scenic hike.

Day 6: Tuktoyaktuk Day Tour
Drive up the brand new Mackenzie Valley highway to Tuktoyaktuk on the Beaufort Sea where you will stand on the edge of the Arctic Ocean and spend the day touring the town of Tuktoyaktuk . At the edge of the Arctic Ocean you will learn about the culture and history of this far northern community from your local guide. Afternoon drive back down the new Mackenzie Valley Highway to Inuvik.

Day 7: Depart Inuvik
Your exploration of the far north ends with a return transfer to Inuvik airport and the flight south to Whitehorse ( to connect with onward flight home).
