An interview with Charlene:

How many years have you been selling travel?
19 Years

What are your hobbies?

Travelling, going to the movies - love everything from a funny romantic comedy to a high-action James Bond film, yard sailing in the summer, reading - personal growth, detective novels, history, the Bible and the occasional light-hearted romance novel while sitting on a tropical beach.

What type of resort activities do you favor? ie water sports, lounging by the pool, etc?
I prefer resorts that offer a variety of dining options and some type of piano or sports bar for after the evening entertainment.  Also, resorts close to or in the centre of a local community is perfect.   I find it intriging going off the resort, walking through the local towns, browsing through the shops and people watching.

What are your favorite destinations?
Italy, by far, is the most fascinating destination that I have had the privlegde to visit.  The art, culture, history, and religion are captivating.  The geography is so diverse from the coastal areas, to the Apinine Mountains, to the rolling hills of Tuscany, to the canals of Venice.  What is not to love?!!

Besides Italy, my first love is St. Lucia.  I have visited many Caribbean islands and St. Lucia stands out with it's tropical vegetation, rolling hills and beautiful beaches.  The people are so friendly and genuine, I made many friends.

What languages do you speak?

English

Travel History
Location: Ottawa Ontario ~ Fairmont Chateau Laurier | Year: 2009
The Fairmont Chateau Laurier is steeped in history that can be found strolling the corridors.  The room we stayed in was massive with vaulted ceilings and all the modern amenites.  We toured around Ottawa, visiting the Parliment buildings and the Canadian War Museum, strolled the Byward Market, dined at a variety of eateries offered in the city and had a laugh at Yuk Yuk's.

Location: Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island (Wedding & Honeymoon Recommended Resorts) | Year: 2009
Due to the size of Sandals Royal Bahamian, all restaurants, activities and services were easily accessible, which I really like.   The buffet and a la carte restaurants offer a delicious variety of food and friendly professional service.  Right outside the resort was a bus stop that for 2.50 would take you into Nassau.   I found touring around very easy and enjoyable.

Location: Jamaica ~ Superclubs Breezes Runaway Bay | Year: 2007
A casual resort that recently had extensive renovations.  Enjoyed golf lessons and strolled along the beach and watched the locals haul in their catch of fish.

Location: Montreal Quebec ~ Residence Inn by Marriott | Year: 2007
The Residence Inn by Marriott offers a convenient location across the street from a huge shopping area and close to the subway.  The rooms were comfortable and included the convenience of a full kitchen.  We went to the President's Cup Golf Tournament to watch the top 12 US and 12 International golfers compete in an exciting head to head charitable match between the two teams.  We also visited the Biodome and strolled through old Montreal at night.

Location: Barcelo Maya Colonial Beach * * * * * (Mexico Recommended Resorts) | Year: 2006
A beautiful superior resort on a gorgeous stretch of powder white sand beach.  The choice of dining offers a wide variety of tastes, including a Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant that should not be missed. Also, has a fun waterpark for children along with a fun children's program.  Also paid a visit to several resorts in the Mayan Riviera and Cancun.  Went on a tour of the Mayan ruins of Tulum and snorkelled at Xel-ha.

Location: Greece & Turkey Cruise ~ Holiday Network | Year: 2006
Visited the Parthenon on the Acroplis overlooking Athens.  Browsed the shops in the Plaka.  Toured many hotels in the Athens area and ate at a variety of restaurants. Cruised to Patmos where I toured the Cave of the Apocolypse ... then on to Rhodes and Mykonos and finally Kusadasi which I toured the ancient ruins of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary.

Location: Splendors of Italy ~ Cosmos Tours | Year: 2005
This was my first time on an escorted coach tour.  I found myself very quickly being grateful for having all the details organized for me.  All I needed to do was relax and enjoy the journey prepared for me.  Our tour began in Rome, where we visited the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica.  The tour also included the Colosseum, however, my friend and I got lost in the crowd and missed it.  There was a drive by, at night, later on in the tour, which was spectacular.  The tour continued on towards Florence; stopping in little towns and villages along the way.  In Florence, we had a city tour and visited the Uffizi Gallery; also did a little shopping for leather goods.  The journey continued to Venice.  It is all I imagined it would be, historic and romantic.  The conclusion of the tour took us back to Rome with stops at Pisa to see the Leaning Tower and Assisi.  Italy is definitely a destination that once you go, you will want to return again and again.

Location: Aruba ~ Occidental Grand Aruba | Year: 2004
